TMP Community Guidelines

The Toronto Museum Project Community is intended to help facilitate discussions about the City of Toronto’s artifact collections and what they mean for the city’s past, present and future. In an effort to keep the community fun, safe and engaging for all users, please abide by these community guidelines. We reserve the right to remove any content that we do not think meets the spirit of these guidelines.

DOs and DON’Ts of the Toronto Museum Project Community:

  • DO - Interact with the website. Leave your comments on the Exhibit Ideas, write your own Exhibit Ideas and participate in the Up for Discussion Forums. Let us know what you think in Toronto in Brief.

  • DO - Be polite and respectful in your interactions with other members of the Toronto Museum Project Community. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

  • DO - Only upload content that is yours and yours alone.

  • DO - Help us moderate content. If you read a comment that you think is inflammatory, abusive or inappropriate for any reason please do click the ‘Report Abuse’ button and we will respond in due course.


  • DON’T - Be disrespectful of others’ thoughts, opinions and ideas. We want the Toronto Museum Project Community to be a forum for all sides of the Toronto story. The Toronto Museum Project Community is not a forum to vent frustrations or rant. Do not issue threatening, obscene, profane, hateful or degrading statements

  • DON’T - Upload content that isn’t yours, please respect the copyright of others. Please acknowledge your sources when quoting third parties.

  • DON’T - Use the TMP Community for commercial purposes. Our community is for personal use only. Any comments selling or promoting products or services will be removed. You will not post unauthorized commercial communications (for example, spam) through the Toronto Museum Project Community.

  • DON’T – Go off topic in the Up for Discussion forum. Comments that are found to be off topic will be removed.

We have drafted these guidelines with the hope that everyone in the community has the experience they want. Please make us aware of abuses at  and enjoy the Toronto Museum Project Community. Information pertaining to legal, copyright and privacy information can be found on our Legal page.
